Right in the center of Capri town, just steps from the Funicular, is Da Georgio. A Caprese original, Da Giorgio has been serving fresh seafood and local treats since 1948. The view of the Bay of Naples is beyond comparison and the tomato, mozzarella and arugula pizza is to die for. Buon Gusto! Via Roma 34.

Mariska Hargitay's Favorite Meal Ever
Bon Appetit interviewed television star and self-proclaimed foodie Mariska Hargitay about her favorite meals. At the top of her list was a simple meal of caprese salad and seafood at La Conca del Sogno in the little hamlet of Nerano near Positano. To quote Ms. Hargitay: "I took a bite of tomato and suddenly I was eating Italy." The family-owned restaurant is on the beach and has gorgeous views of the sea and nearby islands. It's the perfect spot for a leisurely lunch. Via San Marciano, 9.

A Restaurant With a View-Il Fontanone del Gianicolo
In conjunction with Estate Romana, the Acqua Paola at the top of the Gianicolo (Janiculum Hill) hosts an outdoor restaurant and cocktail bar. Il Fontanone del Gianicolo boasts the best view of the city next to the grand and picturesque fountain built by Pope Paul V. In addition to the food and drink available in summertime, through September 14th TeatroStudio, a Roman performing arts organization, hosts FontanonEstate-live music, theater and poetry on a stage next to the fountain. Summer's almost over, so be sure to catch the restaurant and entertainment this week!

A Restaurant with a View-Mirabelle at the Hotel Splendide Royal
If you are looking to spend a LOT of money (yes-250 Euros per person) you could do no wrong at Mirabelle at the Hotel Splendide Royal on the Via Veneto. The views from this restaurant are spectacular-the Villa Medici, the Pincio, the Vatican. The food is excellent as well. If 250 Euros per person seems a bit steep (and with the US dollar still weak, it certainly does seem steep) settle for a drink at the American Bar Mirabelle. There are a few tables on the terrace for patrons. The drinks won't be cheap-but definitely more affordable than dinner!Readers: Which restaurant has the best view in Rome?

Day Trips from Rome: Umbrian Monastery
The Wall Street Journal highlights the monastery Abbazia San Pietro in Valle in Umbria. The monastery is refashioned into a rustically simple hotel where you can relax and soak in the gorgeous Italian countryside. While you are there you can explore the ruins of the abandoned medieval village Umbriano, just a short walk away. The monastery also has an exquisite restaurant, Il Cantico, so even if you are not staying the night, be sure to stay for dinner.

A Restaurant With A View-Hotel Forum
Every streetcorner in Rome offers a splendid view-but some spots are definitely more picturesque than others. What could be more lovely than to dine, al fresco, with a view of the most famous site in the ancient world? The restaurant at the Hotel Forum sits high atop the roof and looks out over the Roman Forum with the Colosseum to your left and the Capitoline Hill to your right. During the day you can watch the world go by-and at night you'll be captivated by the magic of the empty Forum. Be sure to make reservations for dinner. The hotel is located at Via Tor de' Conti 25-30 (near the Fori Imperiali).
